SPOILERS I really liked series 3

I know a lot of people feel disappointed but I'm actually quite happy with the episodes.
One thing to consider, there were double the amount of eps, than previous series and perhaps the ideas got stretched a tad thin by the end.

Nosedive -
Pros - Really pretty colour wise, the whole world and everyone in it looking like an instagram photo; the point obviously.
Americanised in a good way.
Cons - Never really showed the darkest depths of the downside of having a low number. Would have liked a more
dramatic Wedding speech.

Playtest
Pros - Funnier than Nosedive, with less irratating characters (though that was the point of Nosedive), some quite frightening parts.
Cons - The whole double 'its a dream' sort of thing was a bit expected, and I feel it didnt really touch on anything too current unlike other eps

Shut up and Dance
Pros - The most tense ep of the series. Absolutely heartbreaking, a real punch to the gut, left feeling very uneasy and unclean, fantastic Radiohead montage ending.
Cons - The Bank Robbery scene, whilst funny, you would have pulled your hood down or something surely!!

San Junipero
Pros - Beautifully shot, excellent acting and the look of the town (particularly '87) was phenomenal. Emotional and sentimental with humour and pathos, my joint favorite with 'Shut up..'
Cons - Perhaps it would have been more in BMs nature to delve into the darker side of SJ, but I loved it the way it was.

Men against Fire
Pros - Intersting 'twist' with lots to say about propaganda and media and the idea of 'enemies'
Cons - A confusing ending (for me) and just decent, not fantastic but not awful.

Hated in the Nation
Pros - BMs take on a typicsl TV Detectivd drama, with added robot bees. Enjoyable and enthralling with good performances, good message concerning mob mentality, internet anonymity.
Cons - Not the Episode to end on, needed a much more bombastic ending I felt, the story at times, was a little dull.

I haven't heard many people say they are disappointed so I'm not sure what your talking about

Pretty good summary, however, I think Men Against Fire was also about immigration, eugenics, & genocide.

It was interesting how they had a black man being commanded by a woman to kill the targets, and his closest comrade was also a woman. I think this was less about them trying to be politically correct and more about showing a role reversal from the previous way of handling things in wars past such as WWII & Vietnam...yet they were carrying out the same heinous actions.

Also of interest, this is an excerpt from the book:

Men Against Fire: The Problem of Battle Command

S.L.A. "Slam" Marshall was a veteran of World War I and a combat historian during World War II. He startled the military and civilian world in 1947 by announcing that, in an average infantry company, no more than one in four soldiers actually fired their weapons while in contact with the enemy. His contention was based on interviews he conducted immediately after combat in both the European and Pacific theaters of World War II.

The major plot point seems to be the complete dehumanization of the enemy so we can kill them without feeling any remorse.
