Apparently the proper response to someone being treated poorly is to respond with poor treatment of the individual who originally treated someone poorly. Only, according to one of the characters, it's all a big joke. Treating another human poorly is never a joke. Also, anyone who responds in kind to poor treatment, joking or not, is just as much of an ass.

Well excuse me for having something to say about how we treat each other as human beings in response to the episode Hated by a Nation. All those people responding with hateful, insulting comments and death threats are just lowering themselves to the level of the person they are responding to. We should be looking out for and caring for each other not insulting and looking down upon each other. This episode is a sad testimony of the state of people's mindset in this world. Nosedive also is a good comment on how people would be fake in order to be respected and gain social privileges. I say *beep* all of that. Better to be honest instead of fake.
