There would be almost zero chance he goes to jail

Spoiler for Shut up and dance

Nice twist but there is no way he would go to jail even for the killing and the bank robbery. Of course he has to live with the shame for what he did while wacking off.

reply

Um..yes. Yes he would.

He might get away with the homicide. But not the robbery. Or the child porn.

reply

Not necessarily. The episodes don't take place in our current society. He has child pornography, bank robbery, and possibly manslaughter (depending on what really happened). In the future, those could mean the death penalty, even if he was under duress.

reply

Off-topic question: Did that episode take place in the future? I am asking because all the technology including the drone, phones, computer, TVs, cars etc, they all looked like they are from the present day.

reply

Yeah I noticed that episode didn't seem as futuristic as the others.

In the UK they crucify you for armed robbery. I've seen junkies get 5 to 10 years for robbing a shop and all for the sake of £100 from the till.

Add paedophilia and a possible murder/manslaughter charge to armed robbery of a bank and that wee guy could be going down for quite a long time.

First time offence for child porn, at 19? Probably not custodial. Depends on the category of child porn (in the Uk I think these categories have been recently overhauled but there is a severity that relates to sentencing - you can imagine that some images will be much worse than others).

The other offences he was being blackmailed and did them against he will - the bank clerk could testify he pissed himself and seemed under huge duress. Chances of jail 50/50 I reckon. It would come out he watched child porn though, which was the thing he was most worried about. At 19 though, if the children were about 15 he might not be deemed as bad a a 45 year old watching the same images. If they were 5 year olds he's stuffed.

Against his will? He could have accepted the consequences of being a pedophile but instead chose to rob a bank at gunpoint to cover his own ass. He's 100% at fault. Committing a crime to cover up another crime does not erase either crime. The murder could be argued as self defence though.

OK hold on... I thought about it but then I realized something happened during the fight, and that was the reason the kid got out of it alive and the reason the trolls unleashed their fury.

-The last thing we see during the fight is the drone, right? The drone is filming them fighting to the death. Well, that didn't happen.
-The kid tells the pedophile: "I'll give you the money I robbed, just let me live. With this money you can start off again elsewhere". The pedophile agrees and runs away through the woods with all that cash.
-The trolls see this and they just release everything to the power of f#$%. This time, everybody is a pedophile: The husband, the delivery guy, the kid, but not the congresswoman because she's already a racist plus, come on, in the chauvinistic society of England women are not pedophiles, just "underage boys getting lucky".
-The wife tells the husband, by looking at the computer... "Mindy?". I'm sure the trolls already linked the name to a 8 year old child or something.

Personally I agree and that's what he should've done. If he was thinking straight he should have realised 'so far I'm guilty of downloading child-porn, robbing a bank is a whole new level' and gone to the police at that point. What I am saying is that if he was charged with these crimes, with the bank robbery his defence team will argue that he did it under duress, on orders from someone who was blackmailing him, not planned, not for monetary gain, etc. He would be probably be found guilty of the offence as he did it, but when it came to sentencing, these could be huge factors in getting a suspended sentence rather than going to jail.
