What the hell happened?

Loved the first two seasons but season 3 is utter crap. That American character in episode 2 was an insult and slander and shows what the writers have a hatred for Americans. I both cringed at a nearly unwatchable performance that detracted from a rather mediocre story, laughed at the supposed "scary" parts and felt relived when the episode was over. I was similarly eager to see the previous episode end and felt that the writing and story was utter crap. I'm done with this show and won't be watching further episodes -- I don't need my intelligence and nationality insulted by hacks

What happened? Please cancel it before embarrassing your writers and actors any further. It's clear that this show has lost its direction in a very bad way

My least watchable episodes are season 1's "Fifteen Million Merits", Season 2's "The Waldo Moment"

By contrast Season 3 is pretty good with its 6 episodes but I agree Episode 2's Playtest is weakest. Overall just as quality as the other seasons imo.

I actually thought "15m merits" was a rather interesting extrapolation on today's ad revenue focused media market. What with ads that pretend to be news, legitimate mainstream news sites that present slideshows to generate clickthrough revenue and the constant exploration of new and more annoying ways to place advertisements anywhere and everywhere possible

And "The Waldo Moment"? An obnoxious characterature that mocks and criticizes the government ends up running for office? Watch that again with Donald Trump in mind.

Maybe not the best stories of the bunch, but they are atleast relevant and provide insight into today's society.

"Playtest" on the other hand had a very weak story and the main character was completely unbearable to watch. Clearly the show producers have a hatred for Americans for then devote an entire episode to mindlessly angry rants by a clueless idiot

FYI to the producers: Horror only works if you care about the characters. If you make them annoying characterizations based upon your hatred for a nationality it becomes comedy because you actually want the character to die -- and quickly

Agreed. I think the reason why I find them rather tough watching these days and I skip because we're already living it.

Yeah it was a very odd choice for Playtest. I like the director's work usually. I'd probably have enjoyed Playest more if he had redeemable qualities or was played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

MEW is a fine piece of ace. I hope she gets the Domino role in Deadpool 2.

Playtest was one of my favorites, loved the concept and love how you never quite 100% were sure that it was over. Of course, that tinder chick was way too hot and cool for that jabroni.

I'm with you all the way on this one. Before, it was an interesting analogy of how politics intersects with entertainment. Now, after Trump's nomination, it looks prophetic. I just watched it again yesterday and it's now doubly poignant due to just a short passage of time.

Jeez. Cool your boots. It's just a TV show.

Because a single US american who might have flaws automatically stands for the whole nation, while the countless evil english, german or ethnic characters hollywood steadily uses are somehow perfectly acceptable stereotypes. One simply has to love that chronic american inferiority complex.
