What accent does Karin Page in "Hated in the Nation" use?
Its so different from the other British accents I've heard

I'd guess a Scottish one, quite similar to "Trainspotting" characters'. Kelly MacDonald, acting in Karin's role, is indeed Scottish (and was in "Trainspotting" itself).

I had trouble understanding the 2 female detectives also. They reminded me of that woman on X Factor. Maybe she's from the same region as the actresses are supposed to be from.
