Season 3 is a HUGE StepUp from Series 1+2

I was a huge Charlie Brooker fan those years before he did Black Mirror, seemed like a really sharp and with it guy. I also think he may have served me when be worked in CEX in London 20+ years ago, and thanks to him I discovered Doug Stanhope, etc.

Anyhow, I found the first two series (UK) of Black Mirror to really not work for me, it did feel ambitious, but never reached what it should have done. The only memorable thing to me was the PM and the pig scene, and even then the rest of the episode felt very weak, and rather amateurish.

Anyhow I have just been through the first 4 episodes of Season 3 (US) and I have to say they are easily on a next level or two up, storylines, production values, etc and it feels like he is finally realising his ambition for the show.

I still find it to be a little weak in parts, or it is no Breaking Bad, or even Tales Of The Unexpected (which I think it is trying to be, with a technology slant) but it is very good.

As a viewer from the states, I get your criticisms of the first two seasons, and compared to season 3 you're right, but we have nothing like this over here (over the last fifty years, anyway), so i viewed them as tremendous - to give context, I also loved Snuffbox ... again, because it was so original compared to anything stateside
