This is everyday at the school gates for me, I can't stand chatting to the other mums. That scene felt very grounded in reality, poor guy, I like how he just started driving like a psycho and she shut up.

What was the purpose of this scene, though? The two guys still had to follow the hacker's commands.

To create additional tension in that she could delay them and make them miss the deadline. Had he refused her a ride then she would have reported back to his wife that he was tooling around with a teenager in his car and then he would have had some 'splaining to do.
