I don't think that was the message of the plot. I think it was more the case of "what if being Instagram perfect ruled the world".

Being overly judgmental and having that rule what you think of people is bad. I think the point of the first episode was to show the dehumanization of people that social media can cause.

it makes you angry and frustrated all the time and the people around you miserable. doesn't sound like a good thing.
