Max Richter
One of the things that made Nosedive such a great episode was the score. As with a lot of movies and TV, the score can make such a difference to the overall feel. Nosedive was such a great episode on so many levels, but the first thing I had to search after watching was who was the composer? It came as no surprise that it is Max Richter. I should have known.
To use the same piece of piano music for the first ten minutes then for the last ten minutes, when either end of the story had completely different tones. Wow, just amazing. How he has composed that piece to sound upbeat at the beginning yet a little more dark toward the end is just genius.
I hope more of you out there felt the same with how affecting the score was in relation to this episode. If you're not familiar with Maxs' work, then you should definitely check out a great short film called 'Lost and Found'. It's for kids, but I think it's the best score that Max has ever done.
