The most touching part of San Junipero... (spoilers)
...isn't the idea of a digital heaven or being reunited with loved ones. It's the fact that you get a second chance at your youth--and especially, if you're gay, you get to go back to a version of the 80s where you don't have to live a repressed life in the closet.
It's similar to the Twilight Zone's Walking Distance, about how nostalgia and the desire to do over past mistakes are such a big part of us. But it's brilliant because it looks like San Junipero is heading for a message about how you can't stay in the past forever, but then says "screw it! You can do what you want. Be happy."
If you must blink, do it now.
