Playtest Question *Spoiler

Are we to assume that the phone frequency cause the problem with software that ultimately kills him ? If so,than it appears that his mother's phone call was responsible and therefore it was his mother caused his death in the span of 0.4 seconds .

reply

Yes... they explain that pretty clearly in the episode. The phone call killed him.

reply

In a way, he killed himself (inadvertently) by turning his phone back on after the technician had turned it off -- all so he could take a photo of the game schematics.

Yeah he turned it on to take photos but when the examiner reentered the room it appeared that she notice the change and turned it off again.

This was a part of his hallucination.

Exactly.

I've only just finished episode 3, and I see a running theme of karmic justice in this series. You get what you deserve, and you bring it on yourself.

If only he had called his mother

reply

Technically he called for his mother in the end. ::

It's interesting that the woman he hooked up with in London was both his downfall and also his potential savior. She was the one who gave him the idea to photo the game's proprietary information (which he did). But she also told him "Call your mother" (which, unfortunately, he did not!).

I really liked the writing in this episode -- how fate led him to his death.

Yes. When your mum calls - you answer.
