S301 - Why weren't the cars driverless?
It just felt kinda out of place with all the other technology that the cars weren't driving themselves, or where they?
shareIt just felt kinda out of place with all the other technology that the cars weren't driving themselves, or where they?
shareWhy is this an issue? Is there a secret answer how everything works when social media takes over our real world life's?
No. It's sci-fi. People simply drive cars in this story. Deal with it.
lol dude dont get me wrong now i like the show, it was just a thought that came up. In a society with that kind of "social media tech" it just felt odd that the car tech wouldn't have caught up yet, thats all. I guess one could argue that we're only years away from both of these techs
shareYour statement sanctions the idea of social media is an actual parameter to seriously rely on. Think again... please.
How many of us have the courage to discontinue our social medias?
Not many I presume.
I recently closed my LinkedIn account that some people would (and did) say "you're nuts!" because of its "social value". Lol!
I refuse to be a slave, one action at a time. Glad that I don't have a Facebook account and that I never will because that's the first account to be deleted.
Black mirror is an important show to "wake up the dead".
Not sure where you're getting at here,
but I was thinking more about the thing that they've got going on with their eyes, seems pretty sophisticated imo. Not trying to stir up an argument when theres no need.
You're very right about the fact that shows like black mirror are very important in this day and age. Brave is one word but in many cases I think it has to do with people using it for pure convenience. I've never been a big fan of social media myself for that matter.
Good day to you sir
Not stirring at all. This is exactly why this show is so cool. Lot's of interesting ideas pop up for discussion.
Btw... Is imdb a social media? :)
Good day to you.
The OP was asking a question, if you were going to be a dick then why bother answering the question?!
shareLol, why do people think driverless cars are around the corner? You won't see them for at least 50 years. It is a pipe dream, just like the flying car. There won't be a driverless car until AI really exists. It is like building a car before the invention of the wheel.
shareThey already do exists
sharenot in mass production and not for daily use.
it's possible that it never gets through the government.
No, they don't exist.
I can take a car, put it in neutral, get out and let it roll down the hill and call it a driverless car.
They don't exist until you own one and I very much doubt you own one.
It is utter *beep* they need true AI for reasons I can't be arsed to go into.
Then your a fool and need to get your head out the ground. You don't need true AI. Tesla car already allows a basic version of it and that's today. In 10 years it'll hit mainstream. You need a system that works good enough in having cars communicate there location to each other. They already use sensors and do already already an amazin job on the highways, even avoiding accidents!
Sorry old man, but you alreadynmazin a fossil if you believe this *beep* will take 59 years and requires true ai. No bro my car doesn't need to be thinking about life with artificial intelligence lmao.
budget reasons aka couldnt afford better writers.
shareI think human-driven cars simply help drive the plot. They added additional services or interractions that can be scored on social media (cab driver/passenger, rental car agent etc..) or a means of escape via off the grid, blue collar work (truck driver)
shareThe car that the police got into in Hated in The Nation was driverless.
