Hate the Nation... OMG

The lead actress what the hell is that accent... Australian??? What? I can't stand her voice. I want a killer rammed down her throat.

the two detectives were both Scottish, hopelessly miscast in what was a good story

Blue didn't sound Scottish. Definitely Northern (Somewhere in North Yorkshire by my guess), but not Scottish at all. And I thought Kelly Macdonald (who is indeed Glaswegian) was fantastic as DCI Karin Parke. In fact I think they were both great.

reply

I agree Karen MacDonald's accent is heavy and hard to understand for Americans but eventually one gets a hang of it.

reply

Maybe I watched Brave too many times, but I had absolutely no trouble understanding her at all.

reply

Personally, I thought the both female were perfectly cast and I enjoyed their portrayals immensely. I wouldn't mind seeing mind seeing them in future episodes, they're both amazing actresses who played their roles very convincingly.

reply

I love her voice I thought it was Irish. For a Scottish accent it's really not heavy at all I could understand her perfectly

I loved listening to them

I love Kelly MacDonald she was one of highlights of HBO's series "Boardwalk Empire". Her accent on the show was intended to be a Irish. Admittedly it was easier to understand her in that show and she was brilliant. Very good and interesting actress in my book.
