"The Entire History of You" to be made into a movie

So Iron Man is making a movie version of this episode. But the episode is around 1 hour long. The movie would probably be twice as long. So what's the point? The episode is almost as long as some movies nowadays, which are around 90 minutes. I could understand a 10 minute short on a variety show being expanded into a movie, or a short story, but something that's already almost the length of a movie being turned into a movie? That's odd.

Maybe it's just the premise. Like just the idea of being able to see everything of your past so a different plot could lead to a different longer version movie

Thats what im thinking.

well, it's not guaranteed that RD Jr. is "making" the movie. it's categorized as being "in production" but that never means it's getting made. they've optioned the rights. there's a big difference. it might get made.

and it seems there are variations on some of the plot points. his wife dies in the RD Jr. version, not cheats on him.

and it seems 49 minutes running time of a TV episode may be "around 1 hour..." but it's not 60 minutes which is in fact, an hour. so equating the episode to being "...already almost the length of a movie..." is not accurate in any way. odd, it may be, but there are a LOT of things that can be done in movies that TV shows just cannot do.

The concept is too good that someone wouldn't snatch it up to make into a movie.

My dream would be for David Fincher to direct. Along with Reznor and Rose doing the score and Cronenweth as the DP.

Are they calling it 'The Final Cut' and releasing it in 2004?

I think Playtest and Hated in the Nation could be, too

Maybe in the movie version they will fix the ending and show that lying b!tch die a slow death from AIDS. Sure, it wouldn't make the story better, but it would be a more satisfying conclusion.
