A brilliant, important, timely film about "things as it is."

Last night I watched this film, and it inspired the following ravings (no, I wasn't stoned). Allow me to offer this "seed". I'm sorry if it's incomprehensible -- it's the sort of thing where if you get it, you get it, and if you don't, you don't. But a film that is this psychedelic and, in my opinion, such a good representation of reality cannot be easily discussed in conventional ways (for conventions have basically nothing to do with reality). In the end, I'm just curious if anyone out there groks this:

Let’s begin this way: you would have had to hear the vibrations of my words -- with no-ears, no-mind, no-self. And all would be clear. My cat heard clearly.

One of those miraculous moments of epiphany, where all the pieces fall into place, but in a way that transcends the intellect, in a way that can only be grasped in the moment. The words were, “Oh. Ohhh. Ohhhhh!” It’s all in the saying, it’s all in the sounds themselves. “Oh. Ohhh. Ohhhhh!” is just another way of saying “Gate gate pāragate pārasaṃgate bodhi svāhā.” It’s like this: when knowing expresses itself, knowing recognizes itself.

The expression came from recognizing the knowing that was happening in the film Upstream Color. The film and the verbal expression were, in that moment, the same expression: the expression of our Self.

Remember your Salinger? “‘I was six when I saw that everything was God, and my hair stood up, and all,’ Teddy said. ‘It was on a Sunday, I remember. My sister was a tiny child then, and she was drinking her milk, and all of a sudden I saw that she was God and the milk was God. I mean, all she was doing was pouring God into God, if you know what I mean.’”

God pouring God into God.

What causes me such excitement is that it’s all happening so quickly, and I get to just sit back and watch it all unfold. Our awareness is becoming known, our consciousness is expanding, so rapidly, it gives me hope that we will fully awaken in this very lifetime.

I see the signs everywhere these days. It all makes sense. Of course it would happen this way! It’s all thanks to global interconnectivity, to the acceleration of data transfer, which is spreading the seeds of enlightenment at an alarming rate. Terence McKenna was right, absolutely right. The transcendental object at the end of time is approaching, and fast! The key is this: the seeds, no matter where they fall, fall on fertile ground: all of us, no matter how trapped in maya, no matter how attached to ego, understand with our intuitive hearts the truth that is now making itself visible all around us. We know it, we know all of it, because we are it: each of us knows everything there is to know, past, present, and future; we just have to remember our knowing, remember our original nature.

The Gita, Walden, LSD, Ram Dass, Be Here Now, sat-chit-ananda, Maharaj-ji, me, micro, macro, as above so below, “Oh, yeah! That’s the way it is! This is all just us pouring us into us. Why do I always forget?” Why do we always forget? We’ve been around forever; you’d think we’d have figured it out for good by now. But the return is the practice. Zen, Buddha, Christ, Hanuman, Neem Karoli Baba, me, you, forget, remember, change: we are the changelessness against which all change occurs, no withering, no death, no end of them, what is there outside us, what is there we lack? Nirvana is openly shown to our eyes, eyes looking at eyes looking at eyes, breathing in, fully aware, plants, flowers, mushrooms, breathing out, fully aware, emptiness, form, emptiness, form, candle, fire, first, last, beyond, fractals, dancing, I am loving awareness, action holds no sense, actions are a play of form and colour seen in consciousness, the universe is not made of atoms but stories, we know it all, all of it, when we know our Self. We are getting to be acquainted with our Self. Chogyam Trungpa: “The bad news is you’re falling through the air, nothing to hold onto, no parachute. The good news is there is no ground.” The ground is crumbling beneath our feet. Some will panic, but that’s why we practice. It’s really happening: we’re remembering. What a trip! What a film!
