Sense8 (2015) copies the concept and style of this movie. It may not be legal plagiarism, but it feels so dishonest. The Wachowskis are parasites.

The circular panning shots showing the psychic connection between people across different locations is the same in Upstream Colour and Sense8. All the Wachowskis have done is lifted the essence of Upstream Colour and repackaged it into a corny comic book hero TV series.

Copying in art isn't inherently wrong. Humans copy each other and good ideas should be copied. But when a struggling independent artist creates something original and beautiful, only to have it rebranded and copyrighted by corporate artists, it feels so wrong.

This is totally insane. Sense8 is nothing like this.

Another thing: JMS (J. Michael Straczynski) is co-creator/writer of Sense8 and if you know anything about his previous works, you'll see it ALL OVER Sense8. He's not copying anyone.

Sense8 is actually pretty damned unique.

So is Upstream Color, and in a MUCH more minimalist way.
