Not sure if i love or hate the ending.

I loved every minute of this movie, but i just felt that the ending should have closed more of the loose ends.. maybe a sequel could solve this?

8/10 loved it, but leaves so many unanswered questions..

What questions?

My main question would be: why would 'The Girl', who seems competent and effective as well as sexy, be interested in such a waste of space as Adam? A liability indeed.

SPOILERS:

What happened to Roy?
Did the mystery girl track down her sister?
What about that whole human trafficking ring the step dad had going on?
etc.

reply

Roy died, the mystery girl probably died, the human trafficking ring most likely kept on going, the only one involved in that who died after all was Peter.

reply

The "handyman" girl killed the person who sold her sister (Sergei), as well the person whom he sold her to (Ivan), as well as the person he sold her to (Danil), and Peter was just the last link in the chain. So she most likely dismantled the key players in the sex trafficking ring, from the source on down.

All he would have to do is call the ambulance from the car. What else could he do for an unconcious/dead/brain damaged person that he would have the knowledge and ability to do? I think she also did more than prove herself to be a lousy mother. A good mother would have taken her son and fled the country from that abusive sicko long ago. She wasn't evil or anything but she was weak and didn't do much to help her kid. Oh and the girl was pretty damn hot.

A sequel? You should have to spend eternity watching infinite numbers of sequels.

That Polish chick was an extremely tempting offer, I'd have said "hold on 1 sec", gone inside, used the home phone to dial an ambulance, put my mum on the sofa and be on my way.

An offer like that is too big too pass up.

The question is not would he accept or not. The question is why would she even consider asking him ? Stupid ending to a stupid movie.

reply

A failure to spot intelligence in a subject does not make the subject 'stupid'. One might reasonably assume stupidity in the person who fails to recognise intelligence when it is displayed.

This film was an examination of two characters and their literal and metaphorical journey to a form of enlightenment hung on the framework of a road movie about a hit-gone-wrong. That's what road movies are essentially about - characters' internal journeys portrayed as physical journeys.
Reducing the film to a single word - 'stupid' - is itself an act of stupidity. In fact, I can't even be bothered to post this reply.
Oh, poop! I've gone and posted it now... Stupid of me...

The girl saw good in him as a younging. He didn't kill her when he was instructed to and he was almost killed by the same person instructing him. Thus, she tried to help him by following him, leading to her finding out his domestic life and having to kill his mom's boyfriend. From there, it seems she invited him on a date, not neccesarily to live with her or anything.

It's sad to see that so many people can't just simply watch and enjoy a movie for what it is rather than anylyze every detail of it to death. No enjoyment there. I watched and enjoyed it because I love Tim Roth...simple as that.

the mum was sitting pretty. Her husband was dead and she was going to inherit the lot as she wouldn't be a suspect in his shooting.

It´s true, I liked it very much but it´s no movie where everything should be overanalyzed.

But didn´t really see too many loose ends...

Mother - more interested in money than her son, wakes up and is rich.
Roy - bleeding to death

The girls sister & the porn ring - death/not deeper traceable would be fitting, sequel also possible (I don´t need one)

Adam & the girl - the "heros" on the run now. A slight bond between them isn´t too far-fetched. And, more important, police may be after both of ´em now. She has the brains to get away, he still has the £ 7000 !
