They didn't show a single light moment of Steve just kicking back.

One thing that bothered me is that Steve was never shown having any lighter, fun or relaxing moments. We know he was driven, maniacal and eccentric but surely he had his lighter moments. No one is that intense and combative 24/7. I would like to have seen at least a glimpse into who his closest personal friends were and what he enjoyed in the rare times he left work behind and chilled out.

Also, the only personal contact I remember was when his daughter gave him a one way hug saying she wanted to live with him, and when Joanna rested her head on his chest in the basement hallway when he reassured her he had a plan. Was he that closed off physically? Wasn't there anyone he joked with, hugged, and had some affection for? It would have been nice if they had shown a bit of balance by highlighting that part of his life.

This movie was trying to make some kind of point. Wozniak in his relentless positive
delusions said it was a good movie but it was not him or Steve Jobs. Who knows
what this was or what it was based on? All of these movies to me seem unnecessary
and there is no reason to watch them. It was free tonight on HBONow. I was not
impressed. Also ... Steve never spoke to John Scully again as was depicted in the
movie ... so it was way into made up material. He sounded to me like someone
I would not want to know or be around, and I sure am glad he was not my parent,
in my life or my boss.

He does joke around with Woz, Joanna and Andy a few times throughout the movie. It's just never the focus of the scenes.

No one is that intense and combative 24/7.

And the movie version of Jobs probably wasn't, but the vast majority of this film takes place on only three days in real time, and each of them were fairly stressful moments for him.

Also, the only personal contact I remember was when his daughter gave him a one way hug saying she wanted to live with him, and when Joanna rested her head on his chest in the basement hallway when he reassured her he had a plan.

He also hugs Woz when he first sees him in '84, kisses Joanna and hugs John before he goes on stage in '84, and in '88 he puts his arm around Andy's shoulders when he approaches him.

Wasn't there anyone he joked with, hugged, and had some affection for? It would have been nice if they had shown a bit of balance by highlighting that part of his life.

Like I just gave examples of, he did.

What's your point? Why do you assume they should or need to? Hah, some people actually enjoy their work, and it's not some hobby before getting off for the day where their REAL life begins. You act as if life is fun and games 24-7. Learn something.
