Curious to know...

I know this probably doesn't matter but why did Ramin take off his jacket near the end, just after he freed Raoul? Did he do just to be sexy or something?

reply

Getting ready to run, I presume. Or perhaps the falling to his knees and clapping with the monkey is more comfortable without his jacket.

Look, I'm sorry I called you an inanimate object earlier. I was angry.

Apparently it was caught on something so he removed it. I watched that scene last night and honestly don't recall him removing it.

I have another question. Why did Christine cry when Phantom told her that he loved her?

reply

Because she's a big girly girl.

Because, the "angel of music" (the phantom) was a replacement father figure with whom she bonded and on a certain level loved and who she was leaving. She knew she was leaving him never to see him again*, possibly leaving him to die at the hands of the oncoming mob, and she knew she was breaking his heart and it hurt her to do that, and simply hurt her to move on and leave him, too.

*I know they meet again in love Never Dies, but she didn't know this at the time

I just watched it. Just after he releases the Raoul from the noose he seemingly is distracted by the wire that had held the noose, and as the camera follows raoul as he runs to christine, you can just catch him taking off the jacket.
