Volume Changes

I recently got the DVD from Netflix. When I watched it, the sound kept changing from ultra loud to ultra soft, especially at the beginning and end. I had to constantly turn my TV's volume up and down as the loudness levels changed. Has this happened to anyone else, or is it just a problem with this particular disc?

I have never seen it on DVD, but I have watched it on TV, and I had to keep turning the volume up and down. I have since downloaded clips from YouTube, so I essentially have a YouTube version of the entire movie on my computer, and the sound for all of them is extremely quiet, to the point where I have to turn the volume all the way up on my computer, and plug in speakers and have their volume up way loud just so that I can hear it. Even then, the Prologue is still really soft. I have to plug in a second set of speakers to the first so that I can hear the prologue. However, as soon as the music for the overture starts, the second set of speakers becomes unnecessary, and I can hear the rest of the performance okay.

I have he blu ray and have the same problem with my TV, but when I play it through the cheap stereo speaker system I got (mistakenly thinking it was a 5.1 dolby thing) it is much better levelling.

Look, I'm sorry I called you an inanimate object earlier. I was angry.
