It is a good fun movie but is nowhere near the anime. So be prepared.

I just watched it. First of all, it is not going to be anything close to what the anime brings. And nobody should be expecting it to be. The anime is just way rich in content and material. Plus there are things you can do in anime that is just way too difficult in a live action film. The special effects in this one are decent. And the titans are actually scarier in some ways. But the characters are pretty boring for the most part. And the overall story is dumbed down quite a bit.

I liked the film, but the anime is the superior way to watch this story. And I'm actually surprised they're trying to tell this story in only two movies. That just tells you how bare bones this version is going to be. Still a good and fun film to watch though.
