Is BarneyRubbleNLittleChina a Fangirlie or payed shill?

1 - doesn't accept the movie [though I'm quite sure the guy who came up with the manga is pretty fine with it and honored someone even picked it up] 

2 - Doesn't accept that people might have enjoyed the movie for what it is. 

3 - Is Enraged there are necessarily differences in both mediums [loses his shyt because the Titan knoked down a wall and not a Gate. Calls it HUGE] 

4 - Calls people idiots for not agreeing the AOT is, like, dah best anime, like, evah. 

5 - Bumps his own Threads 

I say BarneyRubbleNLittleChina is just a kid who never watched any other anime in his short life - he will shyt his own diaper if he ever watches Neon Envagelion, Macross, or any other anime that predates it and deals with humans fighting bigger enemies after the world ended. 

But I'll let you decide. 

Everyone agrees the anime is way better than the movie. He just doesn't seem to realise the anime is a little above average at best.. but its the first and only anime he has seen so he has no actual real decent anime to compare it too.

He goes on about the anime like its something deep and meaningful.. it really isn't.. a lot of the slow ass monologues are there to fill time.. and it really feels like that when you watch it.. do we really need to see armen have literally the same 10-15minute monologue of how useless he is about 10 times? no doubt he will argue that its needed to show the transition of how he becomes from a scared boy to someone who is really uber important to the team.. but whats wrong with just hearing him go through this the once? either its time filler or just to keep reminding the audience.. the latter which just undermines the viewers intelligence so I'm sure its the former.

AOT the anime is fun and at times can be awesome.. Mikasa and Levi killing titans was really epic and gave me goosebumps.

But barney seems to think that alone makes this the best anime ever... that it does not.. makes it above average is what it makes it.

You are right.. if he ever saw something that actually was deep and meaningful like evangelion... which shares similar structure and themes to AOT .. (even down to the main protaganists of AOT being clearly influenced from those in Evangelion) his mind would be truly blown..

And if he truly thinks AOT is the best anime ever.. he clearly hasn't seen any other anime.

and heres the honest trailer for the anime... just for *beep* and giggles.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpkBXVELjPE

MUAHAHAHAH! Great vid. Everything is right there. Couldn't put it better myself.

Yes the anime is way better than the movie. But it's no where near the best anime ever.
Has some interesting gore to show, but other than the fighting scenes is way too slow paced for no reason. Characters are overall uninteresting and somewhat unoriginal. There's a lack of personal perspective from most of them, and quite honestly I don't care for none of them.

The Titan scenes are great though.

and I think that's why I just enjoyed the movie for what it was... was I pissed they got rid of erens mothers death? sure of course I was?.. other things like the replacement of levi and the change of roles between mikasa and eren..

but you know what.. the anime wasn't that great anyway... the movies still enjoyable.

if they took a seriously great anime and changed it around as much as this... I could agree with the hate... but AOT is such a simple anime.. it doesn't really matter. add to that most of its viewers only watch it because of the anime anyway makes it matter less. this is a film that's appealing to fans of the anime. most normal people who aren't into anime would never even have heard of this film to begin with.

He needs to watch the Project A-Ko movies and see what Japanese think of continuity. Also for changes Macross the movie had significant changes from the series but was still enjoyable.

Yeah NeoGenesis Evangelion would blow his mind.

AOT is very enjoyable though. It does have some very stereotypical characters but the overall feeling of dread is what makes it really good. Its pretty much a zombie movie except the zombies are 50 feat tall.

There are some pretty good live action movies straight from anime. I enjoyed Battle Ship Yamato and Rurouni Kenshin. Those are some good adaptations.
Was unimpressed with Death Note and Casshern to name a couple; loathed Fist of the North Star and have very mixed feelings for Gantz [talk about straying away from the story]

I have to agree with your abouu Death Note and FOTNS Didn't see Gantz

Gantz didn't make much sense as an anime. The entire anime and especially the ending was somewhat more into the kafkaest side of the field than an actual ending that makes sense. The movie condenses the main story in a nice way, but the ending is very different from the anime. In one hand it gives it a proper closer, but on the other hand, by doing so, it removes the actual point of the anime.

I'm satisfied with how it ends in both cases, though. I think I have more trouble with how the story presents itself rather than the live-action adaptation. It's a pretty movie to look at.
