Very bad movie. Unfaithful to story.

Where to begin. This is a big WHAT THE ____??

FIrst, the movie covers the first 8 episodes of the anime. Not the first 17 (Female Titan). I guess i was stupid for believing such a rumor.

Still ... there is plenty to cover in the first 8 episodes, but the producers instead decided to change the story and the characters. Must time is wasted on relations that have nothing to do with the original story and on top of that, they go nowhere. That time could have been devoted to the real story of "Shingeki no kyojin."

This is not the same story. REPEAT. This is not the same story.


There is no Eren's mother. There is no Titan that eats Eren's mother.
The intro cartoon shows humans building the wall.
Armin gets no attention other than getting bullied.
There is no attention to the Survey Corps. There is no training.
Mikasa essentially replaces Eren's mother (she disappears at the beginning).
Mikasa returns as the lover of some replacement of Levi.
Eren is jealous of this.
There is no back story to Mikasa's scarf other than Eren just sort of gives it to her in a flashback.
The Titans laugh. Loudly.
The Colossal titan looks fine, but not only do we not see his return, he kicks in the wall. Not the gate.
They all salute weakly. Almost like Connie does before Keith rips him a new one.

And most importantly. There is no Keith Shardis, Dot Pixis, Erwin, Connie, Bertold, Reiner nor even Annie. There is a giant Eren and he uses Annie's kick, but there is no Annie to use it on him first. Oh by the way ... Eren's father apparently is eaten in the first attack. "Hey Main Character! Isn't that your father being eaten by that titan?" (cut to some man being eaten by some titan).


Sorry, but this sucks the Donkey Balls. A few of the scenes are well realized, but who cares at this point?

This is not "Shingeki no kyojin." Those are like, other kids ... or something. Huh huh.

p.s. I was introduced to this story several months ago via the trailer for the live action movie. Rather than wait for the movie, i watched the anime and read the manga.
