Watched the first two episodes: Not bad so far

Not bad, but not great either. That said, there is some potential here.

One thing I found particularly interesting was the planet the main kid is from -- it looked like an '80s SoCal suburb. At first, I assumed this was primarily meant to appeal to nostalgia, and I’m sure that’s part of it; however, I think there’s more to it.

I got a very 'Demolition Man' (1993) authoritarian utopia vibe from the setting, and I think that might be what is revealed as the show goes on. It could even turn out that the planet’s societal structure is a remnant of the Empire's ideology, surviving on this lone planet and where the new Empire/First Order rises up from.

Just speculation on my part of course, but we'll see.
