13 Beloved

Should i watch 13 Beloved? I just finished watching 13 sins, i thought it was great.
Is it the same, are the tasks the same? Will i enjoy 13 Beloved after watching the remake?

reply

I personally believe the remake is far better. Most of the tasks are the same, but the ending to the original is retarded and makes no sense. Not only that you also find out who is behind the game in the original and its one of the worst reveals in movie history.

Yeah i was reading some comments... i don't think i'll watch 13 beloved. Thank you.

as for the overall movie 13 beloved is way better. the ending is weird, i agree, but still it is better than the one in the remake.

I don't know, i was just hoping it was different from the original, different tasks.. but apparently it's almost the same.

well, yes and no. the end is very different, yet does not make much sense. at least the ending of the original will be further explained in the sequel.

the tasks are indeed different. while one task in the remake is way more graphic, the ones in the original are much more "punishing". also the pace and tone are different. the original has a fast pace and hits you again and again, whithout leaving much space to breath, while the remake switches in pace and has an overall more light tone. it even has one huge copout in the middle. also the original switches between horror, darkest comedy and pure bitterness. the remake has some parts, which one could call "light", yes even charming. i am especially referring to said copout. that one was pretty damn light, yes even funny. not darkly funny, but just sheer goofyness. the original has no such moment at all.

so i guess it depends on what kind of film you want to watch. i would recommend to either only watch the original or first the original and then the remake. they are both pretty good, but i consider the original far superior.

what i liked the most about the remake, was the opening scene. that onbe's fantastic. i wish they would have kept that tone, then that would most likely have been the best movie of the year.

Umm yeah it looks darker, it's a matter of taste. I'll think about it, i really like thai horror films.
