All I really know about motorcycles is that they're fast and have two wheels. But even I could tell those in the movie were mopeds, making the sounds of a powerful engine, then reaching such speeds to decapitate most of the riders with a somewhat thick cable. Is that really what happened? Yes, yes it's just a movie but come on.
shareI didn't even think about that until you brought it up? I went back and watched it, and yes they buffed up the sound of the mopeds with some Suzuki crotch rocket engines, I even heard the sound of a Harley.
They must have filmed the scene, and then while editing decided they weren't going fast enough so they added the sounds and some quick cuts to give the illusion of speed. If I had to guess, I would say they were going at about 10 to 15 mph, not nearly fast enough for the type of clean cut decaps and amputation shown.
I give it a pass, as I didn't even notice it the first play through. If it was my film and we were already in post, I would have done the same.
It's called a foley fail. When either the foley artists gets out of hand or incompetent, or a director during editing goes over the top. It happens alot if you really consider whatever scene and notice everything going on, scenery, costuming, dialogue, dialect, sound effects. As much as a mistake as continuity, booms on frame, etc,...

Yes, I saw that too, as the camera was going over the wreckage... I was thinking umm.... those don't look like motorcycles. Funny they were all acting so cool throwing up their hands on mopeds. lol
All movies take physics into their own hands, horror movies make the human body super soft and vulnerable to all sorts of every day items (especially zombies, they can be so squishy sometimes). Whereas an action movie will have heroes jumping through windows like it's nothing.

Yeah !! And who drives mopeds these days anyways, in a group like that acting all cool. It clearly looks like they ripped off the scene from "The Counselor" and while that one was extremely cool with tension building up long before the actual execution, this one sucked.
