That police department wasn't messing around with those sketches. They had wanted posters hanging and ready within an hour or so of the crime committed. Not to mention, what were they planning on charging him with for telling a kid her mother didn't love her?
GOD I KNOW RIGHT! I just started watching this and it was going great until that first police scene. These things literally just happened and they've got art everywhere, why do they care and why does this need to be an element to the movie? UGH, lame.
The best I can figure is that since the defective was in on the prank/scam/whatever it is, so he was ready to assist in that aspect...but that's reaching.
I found the whole parents' reaction to be a bit absurd. The part that irked me the most was when she called him a "pervert". :|
In what way is he being a pervert (a sexual deviant) by telling a child her parents don't love her? It's a frustrating overreaction and makes me want to slap her. She'll probably end up calling the police on her husband one day claiming he raped and assaulted her because he didn't let her buy that dress or something.
And then they're all sitting in the police station filing a goddamn police report? Are you kidding me? I mean Jesus, he was just being an *beep*
If you're curious about what they were going to charge him with, if you read the charges listed next to his sketch in the police station, the first one was "child abuse".
I agree it seemed over dramatic but any man talking to a little girl is going to be called a pervert. I thought he had gotten away with it though so I was suprised by the trash can throwing scene. I thought that was silly. She wouldnt have done that not having witnessed what happened just on the word of the little girl.
the other player was his own brother, who admitted to him he showed his "thing" to a little girl, likely the same girl. the brothers look similar and both comb their hair forward. not sure why the brother's glasses didn't get included, though they are very thin and might be missed.
