The 13th task

So the last task is to kill a family member and the father choose to kill his beloved wife... but why did he kill his wife when he could have killed his mentally challenged son instead? Surely he would have found that to be much less objectionable? Or did the term state that only adult family member counts? We wouldn't know as we never saw the contract or read the fine prints.

I'm guessing that dying in a car crash because you don't wear your seat belt was much easier to sell to the police.. Also probably didn't love her too much either if he was willing to murder her. :P

Think for yourself and question authority.

Except the whole police business is taken care of anyway by the game masters so that is not really an issue. The father did so his wife was the one thing in the world he cared about and killing her basically put him on the path of self destruction.

reply

You're assuming that he loved her, which we don't know for sure.

You're also assuming he could pick and choose.

If the father was in the same position as the son, then it's likely there was another player for him as well - The wife herself perhaps?

Or maybe he had a time limit and she was the only available target?

reply

Or maybe you loose the rest of your family when you kill a kid. How do you cover up Mom making a huge deal of her husband killing her son? Unless she is killed to that one never goes away.
