Ending
Why was elliot allowed to live after he killed the cop . Doesn't interfering with the game make him a target . I dont understand is this a plot hole or I did miss something ?

not sure if you are messing with us.
that ending would have made the whole film completely fantastic!!!

Messing with you? Get the DVD and you'll see. I thought that ending was really, REALLY dumb. Why would they be having over 100 people all playing the game at once?
Killing must feel good to God too, he does it all the time, and are we not created in his image?
will do. i thought the theatrical ending was crap. ok, let's put this perspective first. this movie needed a lot of suspended disbelief to begin with. we had to accept that this was on such a large scale, that it involved the kennedy assassination. that it was so big, according to the intro, that it has been going on for hundreds of years. well, not involving cellphones, obviously though. hahaha. anyway, in the theatrical ending he messed up their whole game, without any consequences? going back to his wife to live happily ever after? no.
ok, maybe the deleted ending is not the perfect one. personally it would have been enough if he went back home, to find his wife bound to a chair and a bunch of loonies greeting him as he opens the door, but i find the "cellphones" idea not that bad, overall. yes, it would still not be completely logical, but most of the film wasn't. if they can offer a guy enough money to demand having his arm cut off, then they would most likely would have 100 guys to kill a dude for cash in all area codes.
anyways, i gave this film a 6 for being entertaining. nevertheless, it was hard on the border. the original made more sense.

He just got disqualified and lost the money. My guess is that he believed somehow the game will end permanently now that he killed the cop that will cover the tracks for the game. This is why he becomes frightened when he talks to his fiance - the gane continued with his last family member.
