*beep* philosophy

Guys were such tools. Trying to say that snowboarding gets you in touch with your "inner man" and gives back to the earth?

Sports are sports. They're fun hobbies but anyone who says they're anything deeper than that are deluding themselves and trying to justify themselves

reply

I think the things that they were saying are partially true just due to the fact that they are right on top of beautiful mountain tops and other natural wonders when they are going through these snowboarding trips.

So they had a nice view before they went snowboarding. I still can't take them elevating their expensive extreme sports hobbies into some deep spiritual/transcendental experience that makes them better, purer people for doing it. Same as the people that put deeper meaning behind surfing. It's a board in the water, you aren't finding Jesus or becoming a better person for doing it

reply

Well in the case of these guys, I think they were pure adrenaline junkies that were trying to make their experiences more meaningful in their minds than just adrenaline rushes.

reply

That was the biggest problem with this movie. I did not buy their philosophy/motivation at all. Swayze sold it way better.

reply

You obviously have no idea about what spirituality is.

reply

Well then why don't you explain it?
