He played it very well, but it wasn't a very challenging role. I expect an Oscar winner to really give a lot more.

shareColin First is a great actor and good in everything he does. Since it is early in the year and Colin already has a Best Actor oscar, we shall see.
shareHe was very good but I don't think this performance showed anything different than we've seen from him in roles like The Kings Speech or A Single Man(My fave). I think he has a more promising role coming up with the Woody Allen film where he might play something a bit different.

Firth is absolutely unbelievable. I've seen his other roles and for me, this one does stand out, for its own merit, in an unique way. Almost traumatizing to watch!
