*Yawn* Lost Footage movies...please stop making these!!!

Another god awful lost footage movie.

Stop Making these!

Do they all have to end with a blurry creature???

Would probably be much easier if you just stopped watching them...

Can't know how bad it's going to be until you watch one...

OP, I thought the same thing at first when the movie started. But I stayed with it, and it turned out to be worthwhile.

Europa Report uses the ship's onboard cameras to take the found footage. This works much better than having characters running around with handheld cameras - which gets increasingly ridiculous as all hell breaks loose around the characters (e.g., REC, Cloverfield, etc.)

Also, Europa Report had a pretty interesting way of tying how the footage actually gets found into the climax of the movie. Pretty cool.

In short, give this film a try. The found footage gimmick ends up not mattering much to whether or not the film succeeds.

I'm with GoBears - this is definitely the best "lost footage" movie I've seen. For me it did threaten to be annoying in some spots, but never quite got there. Overall I think they made it work.

omg right?? and movies with edits in them?? Sooo cliché! And movies with expositional wide shots?? WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! god AWFUL

!!!!!!! AGREED !!!!!!!

As a fan of cinematography, I agree, they've done enough. It works with some movies. This one seemed unnecessary.

Agreed! The "found footage" thing definitely hurt the movie! They should've just shot it straight, and linear. They spoiled any potential suspense right off by essentially telling us the mission ended in tragedy.

I personally just kind of watched, disinterested, wondering if the film would improve.

Agreed it would have felt much better that way, instead the acting felt off and gave a stale low budget feel to it.

This wasn't even a legitimate Found Footage movie. There were several scenes where no camera could possibly have been present.

This is probably the only film I've seen where the 'found footage' gimmick actually works in the films favour. It reinforced the films realism, helped make the most of the budget, never detracted from the storytelling, and actually makes sense in regards to the films climax and our relationship to it.
