Dan Fogler..just no

I found this film to be a pleasant surprise almost all around, if it hadn't been for that guy. I have no particular problem with this actor and am aware that he has done some comedies/prominent films, but this guy took me right out of the film. It was ludicrous to think anyone would find it believable that he's a Doctor/Scientist. In the same way those retarded mermaid documentaries on Animal Planet feature actors, I felt like I was watching some douche pretending to be a scientist. And of course I was. I'm open-minded but I literally moaned and covered my eyes whenever he starting providing narrative, and tried to not hear it. All of the narrative should have soley been left to Embeth Davidtz, who fit nicely in her role(and can act) This guy might be good for comedies but wow, he just took me right out of the movie. His part also seemed deliberately forced into the cast, as if he were friends with the director or something, because his character was absolutely useless, as Embeth Davidtz had already started providing it from the beginning of the film, so why did we need to see/hear this guy. Terrible casting choice indeed.

He's actually a pretty decent actor. I liked him in Scenic Route as well.

What? Are you serious?

I thought Fogler was one of the most believable people in the movie... the most believe person, actually.

I'll tell you why...

Fogler came across as a genuine man-nerd. A guy who spent his life fascinated and entertained with the prospect of space travel and discovering foreign life on an alien planet. He reminds me of people I've come across throughout life who kind of look like that and exacerbate that kind of zeal to everyone around them for the topics they've fallen in love with.

To say that Fogler wasn't believe because he came across as a "douche pretending to be a scientist" seems kind of silly. He reminded me of someone who loved comic books and sci-fi and pursued his dream of joining the field of astronautic research and sciences.

Did you not see Dr. Matt Taylor and how he came across in his interviews after landing a probe on a moving asteroid? Really? And you want to talk about people not being believable?

Heh... some people.

Actually, it's pretty silly that you'd consider my opinion silly. Since I'm not the only one who's mentioned this guy and how awfully unfitting he was for the role. I wrote a very reasonable and respectful post expressing my opinion. Stop crying about it.

Fogler's awesome.
Fin.

Not in this role.

Fin.

Is too.

Fin fin.

It took me a second or two to recognize him. I've only ever seen him in dumb comedies, so he seemed a bit out of place here at first. But truthfully I think he did a nice job.
