Found footage with...music score?
That's new to me. It totally discredits its pretentions as a found footage film.

It's not a pure found footage film, it's a documentary that's been put together after the data was received back to earth. It has montages at the start of news reports about the mission, footage of press conferences, and even a talking head from the mission control woman who tells you it's a report. A report like this would be heavily edited (as indeed it was) and this doesn't preclude music.
