Billions of dollars and 5 dead astronauts for an octopus

Brilliant movie

reply

Lmao.

I enjoyed the film, but they shouldn't have showed the Octo thing at the end.

reply

This is the speech after they got confirmation about Europa!

I'd like to thank all the tax suckas erm I mean payers for allowing us to launch this

exploration. We now can further confuse everyone even more. Thank you. Na na na na na

reply

Not tax dollars...this was a privately funded mission. But still...

reply

But it's a "space" octopus. That makes it all worth while.

reply

This octopus might bear the key for curing cancer or AIDS, who knows?

reply

I'd be ok with a trillion dollars and 50 dead astronauts if it meant knowing if there is life out there.

reply

If we consider the lives lost by Nasa to send men to the moon and walk around collecting rocks, then yeah, it's the price we pay to find life other than ours.
Even if it is just an octopus.

reply

No-one died going to the moon.

reply

Actually, a few people did. Granted, they were not on the way to go to the moon, but the died in the process of preparing to go to the moon.

"From a phylogenetic perspective, we are all fish!"

reply

Thank you Tsavo. Of course that is what i meant but you have to spell it out for some people. Not you, obviously.
The Apollo Program's entire existence was to land men on the moon. The first three men of Apollo 1 died on the launch pad.
