This was bad.
There were a few laughs, and the creativity was good in terms of the production, but the musical numbers and the sandworm were terrible choices. The Bob's featured way too much and Beetlejuice should've featured more, and needed to do more crazy stuff.
The acting was good. However, everything felt really rushed.
This did not work for me. Stick to the original.

With its limp humor, canned sentiment, and over-egged efforts to gross us out, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a waste of a good cast and a defacement of a classic film’s legacy. Most galling of all, it was summoned willingly by people who should know better than to mess with what’s long been peacefully laid to rest.
There’s no sign of sincerity anywhere in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and no hint of relatable feeling. The entire movie is an echo chamber crammed with incident.

It was... something. Still lost for words what to make of it.
Also Tim Burton's lost his uniqueness. The beauty of his older films - like the original, Edward Scissorhands, Batman - was that they were set in an "out of time" reality. You can't pinpoint a time frame on them because he mixed modern and old and it worked great. Gave them a unique identity and atnosphere. This film is very modern with the whole influencers stuff. Like some have described - Beetlejuice for the tiktok generation and it left a weird taste. And Beetlejuice himself wasn't right. And I can't describe why exactly. If it was the make-up or the performance.
And I don't like saying this because I'm aware she's had mental health problems in her life and that's sad but we can't ignore the elephant in the room. Winona Ryder can't act anymore.
