Like American horror story, for example

Which I'm not complaining about because it would have been a rehash of the first movie otherwise.

You can still make a sequel with a cohesive plot without being a rehash of the original - Mad Max 2, Lethal Weapon 2, Blade 2, The Dark Knight....

This looked as though they'd filmed the first draft of the script.

Agree. It was all over the place, like it didn't know what story it wanted to tell. What a mess. Just bad in every way. The magic from the first one was just not there.

What was the plot? Describe it so that all of the characters and situations introduced all build up to a satisfying climax.

They introduce the (I suppose) main conflict, after nearly an hour with Ghost boy, and then he's dead 10 minutes later😂

Lamest villain of all time.
