Let's have fun with this one and list all this 'stereotypical' Italian norms.

1. Italians gangsters REALLY talk with their hands. It was almost comical watching some scenes - as if they just reviewed their .

2. They love their mamas. From Conte who was ready to shake n bake with his mama to Genny who did not seem to get enough of his mama's cooking.

3. Vespas and Fiats - the vehicles of all Italian mobsters.

4. Italians love God and the Virgin Mary, they just seem to ignore the part about not killing.

5. Even a snot-nosed 21 yr old can be a mob boss, just as long as daddy is rotting in some jail.

6. Naples is filled with 16 yr old gangsters.

7. Want to be taken seriously as a gangster? Have mommy send you away to South America and return home with a stupid haircut.

8. Every killer throws up after a bit of bloodshed. Enough already!

I don't know why foreigners talk about stereotypes, this show is pretty accurate. Maybe not for the 2 last facts, and the fact that a woman could have some kind of power in a criminal organisation.

What impressed me the most was the young gangsters. I mean young napolitan crooks dress, act, think and talk like in this show. Most of them are from Scampia (the place where it was filmed) so it looks more accurate.

by the way, if you watched the whole season you would see that this 21yr old mob only lasted this long cause he knew all the young mobsters, and even with his father reputation it ended badly. So this proves a 21 yr old can't be a boss

maybe from a foreigner those look like stereotypes but it isn't the case.

this is not a show about average italians, you genius. it's a show about some italians in a very specific context and it's pretty damn accurate.
if you do a show about some gangsta *beep* from compton, would you say it represents 'americans'....
