In theory it's a good idea, as it's better to be working together, rather than fighting each other. But when some people are earning more than others but doing half of the work or taking none of the risks, there's going to be dissension in the ranks eventually.

Its very simple actually. Imagine all kept their profits . The ones who make the most would be a constant target. By splitting they make sure to avoid a war and everyone can deal in his area without fear of death or loss of profit. An all out war is very bad for business . Profit would drop and members would get killed or locked up
