Wes Anderson-esque?

This movie looks a lot like Wes Anderson's movies, it even has Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman.

Thoughts?

The director of this (Roman Coppola) actually co-wrote two of Wes Anderson's films - the Darjeeling Limited and Moonrise Kingdom. But before that, he made this great little movie called CQ (which also had Jason Schwartzman in it). So yes, he's got a similar sensibility, but the resemblance is that of a collaborator rather than an imitator.

Yes, and that's why I loved it. Not quite as beautiful and specific as an Anderson film, but it moved like one. I enjoyed it.

After watching alot of the oscar-worthy movies leaked...this was nearly impossible for me to get thru...well... I actually didn't.

The only thing worth watching was the scenery. It was just a corny mess in my opinion, nothing like his previous efforts which I liked.

I fast forwarded until it was over because I hate the flashes of dream sequences/day dreams. For me it was a waste of a good cast. Oh well.. I had high hopes for it.

You nailed it. This was tedious to even get through. Not nearly as good or well made as Anderson's movies...

I agree 100% although checking this out before watching, I already got that vibe.

I would say it is more heavy on dream sequences that an Anderson movie. However Wes' reality is so surreal the line is blurred.

Definitely not as tight as a Wes Anderson movie, since he has had a ton of opportunities to perfect his style.
