All the nagging about natural lightning is annoying as *beep*

Okay, I guess I'm not the only one who hates the narrator's "question"-ending sentences and more, but there's one thing that hasn't been acknowledged...
Why is it so cool with natural lightning? That's just that you take a regular camera, shoot a film, then change nothing. I much prefer when a movie (unless it's VERY effective the other way) has some good achievements in cinematography, like say, "The Godfather", "The Brood", "2001" or heck, even "E.T."! Just taking a camera and shooting something in regular and boring lightning to show people is not fascinating at all.

There are some (including me) that are just tired of the current trend of super high contrast, filtered color and unnatural lighting in movies and TV. I prefer natural color and lighting. Not a fan of watching something and it's basically just different shades of one color, either. Sure, it can be interesting and create a mood, but it's overdone now. That's the problem for me; it's not the techniques themselves, it's the frequency of them. Not everything has to look like Bay or Abrams shot it.

Even a show like Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives does it! I don't want to see neon pink pastrami and radioactive green lettuce. I'm surprised there aren't lens flares coming off the spoons or something! :p
