Your take on the sex scene?

It was way out of the blue. It probably pushed Josh to commit murder. He seemed like a repressed creep through out the film.

reply

No so out of the blue, Dr Freud, though I thought it was his latent subconscious homosexual feelings towards Harmon that drove him to it.

reply

To show the girl was a dilettante who was just in it for the kicks. That's why she insisted on being part of the mission. A cocky rich kid who thought she knew better than her peers and better than the ex-marine. Faced with the reality she broke into hives.

reply

Ummm there was a sex scene??? I saw this a year ago at a film festival. I don't remember a sex scene at all. Can you remind me around what part of the movie it's in? I'll go back and rewatch haha.

reply

I wouldn't call it a sex scene to be honest. While Josh was outside the trailer at one point, you could hear Dena having sex with Harmon. Nothing was shown at all.

reply

never looked at it that way. Never thought of him being a homo either that would explain him crying(if that was the case), just thought misery wanted company.

reply

Why does Josh crying indicate that he was a "homo"?

reply

Well, we really don't know if the girl and the bomb maker really had sex at all, perhaps they were just talking and laughing in the cabin. But the viewers are led to believe that sex was a possibility. And the younger guy clearly suspected this may have been the case. And this suspected sex was construed as a reason for the younger guy to have emotions boiling up inside of him. In a worse movie they would have included an explicit sex scene. Dakota Fanning in a sex scene - sounds good, right? Not really, I liked how they kept it just a possibility in this movie.

reply

I thought the whole her getting him fired and making him homeless and then attacking him pushed him to murder.

reply

Sex scene, what sex scene? If your talking about Josh outside the trailer, how do you know they were having sex?

reply

It's obvious he heard the groaning and grunting. That's why he put the food down and walked away.

reply

Because like others have said you hear them having sex, because the film is titled Night Moves for a reason, and because she discovers she is pregnant which compounds her guilt over the bombing and triggers her breakdown during the last part of the film

Night Moves

The night moves with all manner of things

The phrase "night moves" is an idiom for "sex", teenage sex, casual sex, one-night-stand sex, quick sex in the shadows, etc

Ever heard of the song Night Moves by Bob Seger? Working on those ahem night moves

I was a little too tall
Could've used a few pounds
Tight pants points hardly reknown
She was a black haired beauty with big dark eyes
And points all her own sitting way up high
Way up firm and high

Out past the cornfields where the woods got heavy
Out in the back seat of my '60 Chevy
Workin' on mysteries without any clues
Workin' on our night moves
Trying' to make some front page drive-in news
Workin' on our night moves in the summertime
In the sweet summertime

We weren't in love oh no far from it
We weren't searching for some pie in the sky summit
We were just young and restless and bored
Living by the sword
And we'd steal away every chance we could
To the backroom, the alley, the trusty woods
I used her she used me
But neither one cared
We were getting our share

Workin' on our night moves
Trying to lose the awkward teenage blues
Workin' on out night moves
In the summertime
And oh the wonder
Felt the lightning
And we waited on the thunder
Waited on the thunder

I woke last night to the sound of thunder
How far off I sat and wondered
Started humming a song from 1962
Ain't it funny how the night moves
When you just don't seem to have as much to lose
Strange how the night moves
With autumn closing in

And none says, "Where is G-d my Maker,
Who gives us melodies in the night,
instructs us more than the beasts of the earth,
makes us wiser than the birds of the heavens?"
The heavens recite the glory of G-d, and the sky tells of the work of His hands. Day to day utters speech, and night to night tells knowledge.
He ushers in the dawn, and made the night for rest, the sun and moon a computation. Such is the measure appointed by Him, the omnipotent and all-wise.
You are the blessing in a stride toward perdition,
When living sickens more than sickness does itself;
The root of beauty is audacity,
And that is what draws us to each other.
As soon as night comes my demon springs up out of the ground.
That is the price I pay for my past.
They come, those memories of vice,
And fall to gnawing at my heart.
Distorted shadows fell
Upon lighted ceiling:
Shadows of crossed arms, of crossed legs--
Of crossed destiny.
Sometimes a lantern moves along the night,
That interests our eyes. And who goes there?
I think; where from and bound, I wonder, where,
With, all down darkness wide, his wading light?
While crossing the Lhakpa La
Something jumped down from the rocks
In the remote Garo hills by Dipu Marak
We found footprints in the snow

The Amazing Sounds Of Orgy

I want to see you smile again
Like diamonds in the dust
The amazing sound of the killing hordes
The day the banks collapse on us

Cease this endless chattering
Like everything is fine
When sorry is not good enough
Sit in the back while no one drives

So glad you're mine
