Haven't seen this yet but the synopsis sounds an awful lot like the Monkey wrench gang...

Same here. I live at Glen Canyon Dam, and have been waiting all my life for Monkey Wrench to be produced. There is a script out there (I've read it) but no one makes it. I guess this is the concession. At least it isn't set here!!
They should make Wet Desert into a movie - that would be awesome! (Except they blow up my Dam!)

Aside from two guys, a girl, and a dam (not to be confused with "Two Girls, One Cup") it turns out there weren't many similarities to Monkey Wrench Gang. It was an ok movie but not essential on the grounds of being an Abbey fan.
