Yes, this is a film that makes you think, and yes, it's wonderful to read how diverse people's interpretation are about each undercurrent you can find.
And I didn't know about the expression "saving the cat" and now that I do I'm sure that the Coens did it on purpose (among so many other purposes, of course). Just another layer for the interpretation of the cat methaphor!

I just realized I could have used Ripley in Alien as an example. I also wished I wrote a little something about Please, Mr. Kennedy. Poe Dameron and Kylo Rynn from the Force Awakens are singing side by side about not wanting to go into Outer Space. XD
