Extreme Pretentious Bullsh**

Insane how sometimes the Coen brothers can make some of the greatest films of American cinema, like Fargo, The Big Lebowski and No Country for Old Men, and then some of the s hittiest mainstream "indie" movies, like this, Hail Caesar and Burn After Reading, I blame Ethan.

Well....i didnt love Burn After Reading but it was entertaining nontheless. Havent seen Hail Caesar but i really enjoyed Inside Llewyn Davis and its tone. What was it you hated so much?

Hello friend. That's lame, i should give you a name.

I just personally hate movies that don't really seem to have any overall purpose or meaning. Llewyn was no better off when the movie ended than he was when it began, to me that makes the story pointless. I guess I'm in the minority here but it really could have and should have been a much better film than it really was.

reply

ahhh no worries about being the minority man! I know what you mean about the pointlessness though. It really bugs me when some movies just have scenes that happen for no reason other than to look pretty or cool.

Personally i liked Llewyn for the tone, and how atmospheric it was for portraying a down on his luck folk singer. The "pointlessness" was the theme they wanted to bring across i think, that his life is just a loop of sad events but i thought it had a charm to it haha. But i can definitely see why its not for everyone, and i agree that its not as razer sharp as something like Fargo or No Country for old Men.

Actually, Bob Dylan playing after him at the end of the movie is implying that Llweyn is about to be part of the folk boom. Something changed when he left the cat, came back and let go of the burden of mike. He sang the song he didn't finish the Gorfeins at the end too. And it's good that he didn't get royalties cause he won't get looked at as a sellout and it's gonna he didn't ship out. He's gonna be fine
