If its the LAST Exorcism why are they making another one?

I always thought the context of last meant it would be the last one. they should have called the original the First exorcism

It's called the "last" because the exorcist in the first film wanted to quit his work and finally expose the act.

The "Last" has nothing to do with previous exorcism films.

When they say The Last Exorcism, they're talking about the exorcism in the movie, not the movie itself. If that were the case they would say.. The Last The Last Exorcism movie. Get it?

"Return of the Last Exorcism".
Then the third could be called "The Last Exorcism Strikes Back".

It's not like Final Destination 2 etc.

In the film thats the guys last exorcism.

His own last one that he's performing.
