I thought the first movie was alright, I didn't really hate it but I thought it could be better. I am surprised there is a sequel but I am even happier that there is no found footage which I think it a smart move on the directors part. However I really hope this doesn't turn into a cheep cgi fest which it sort of looks like at the moment, but movies not out yet and I will probably go see it. My curiosity will get the better of me in the end... I miss Cotton thought

Why is it surprising they are making a sequel? The first movie had a budget of $2m and grossed $40m.

These type of movies usually have low production cost and bring in a decent amount of profit.
