OP I think Hollywood is running dry. It seems when a film comes out and gets a decent amount viewers (because there is nothing better at the time) then that is a green light to just drain it for all it's worth. If there was a film about Killer Sand that made some money then you can bet your grains that there would be 10 films about sand in the next few years, all getting progressively worse.
