No Lionsgate?

After seeing the trailer, I can't blame Lionsgate for not distributing the sequel, but it's kind of rare to have one studio release the first movie, and a different studio releasing the sequel. Does anyone know why CBS Films is releasing this movie instead than Lionsgate? Is it because Lionsgate saw no potential in this and passed it on? Do they think they are a better studio now after releasing The Hunger Games and want to release higher quality movies? LOL.

Probably. I don't remember the first film being lauded in anyway, despite opening well. I guess CBS Films are REALLY desperate at this point, as they just can't seem to score themselves a hit.
