An infinitely better film than Part 1.
Seriously, it was fantastic! Loved the New Orleans vibe and how it wasn't another found footage rehash. Actually hated the first film but dug this one quite a lot.

shareOverall I was pretty ambivalent toward the first film with the exception of the ending (I'm one of the few who loved the absurdity), but I really liked Part II. While it is extremely predictable, I found it to be more enjoyable than I expected.
shareYeah, I agree. This is very different from part 1 and one of the many reasons I loved it is that it never tries to replicate anything found within the first film.
Keep Calm & Love Josh Hutcherson
Your lemon squares taste like ASS.
I too liked this film, and I don't know why so many people are complaining. Like seriously, it's almost pathetic. Was this a masterpiece to be remembered for decades? No, probably not. But it was FUN and ENTERTAINING. What did you all expect to see? An Oscar worthy film?

I like how this one was different from your typical exorcism movies. The devil didn't win and kill everyone in the end, God didn't win and everyone went back to normalcy in the end, instead it took an action movie type turn. She drives off causing destruction. A bit ridiculous, but an interesting twist on the genre. Also, the demon FALLS IN LOVE WITH HER? When has that ever happened before? We see a different side to demons, and it isn't just some evil creature that pops in for a few spooks throughout the movie. It talks to her in the form of previous kills in her mind. You have a voodoo lady, a doctor, and a pastor (?) with tattoos trying to expel this demon and transferring it to a different form of life.
Now, would I pay to see this again? Probably not. Dvd or OnDemand rental? Sure. It was fun and it was different. Was it better than the first? Debatable. I prefer the creepiness of the first, but part 2 was a nice addition. The public domain tiger roars were a bit silly, and I felt Gwen was an odd character. Almost seeming happy at the bad things happening around the house (was she bad? good? possessed?), but those are little things you shouldn't get too hung up on. If you find yourself constantly criticizing movies and afraid you'll regret it, than see it in a matinee or something.
